Prayer Works

Sep 26, 2005 12:05

It seems like it’s been a really long week. If anyone has any doubt about prayer, let me tell you it works. I got my motorcycle license last week and when I was practicing before. I was doing fair, but after praying for God to help me. I was doing so much better and I passed the test with a perfect score. God is so good and it was definitely him doing the work in me. If you’re struggling with something, pray and in his timing, he will make it work out. I went to a birthday party on Monday night and ended up talking to a good friend about some things that have been frustrating and scary to me. Thank you friend. Sometimes, I just get nervous about doing things cause there is potential to hurt other or to be hurt, mostly hurting others. Well, that is life for you. People say leave things in God’s hands, but what is my responsibility and what is not? Church was good, yesterday. Pastor was talking about appropriate and inappropriate hugs and it got me thinking that we should also not show favoritism in this area. James 2:9 tells us that if we show favoritism then we are sinning. If we hug one person in church in a certain way like shoulder to shoulder, we need to be willing to hug each person in church in the same way. Of course, we need to respect that some people are not comfortable with hugs and respect their requests. Favoritism goes far beyond just hugs including not talking to someone who isn’t in the “in” group. To put it simply, we gotta love everybody. Hope everyone has a good day.

Love in Christ
