Prov. 17:17 says "A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity"
I've had this verse on my mind for the past couple of days. What does it mean that a friend loves at all times? If we have an argument with someone or don't agree with everything, we are still to love others. Josh spoke wed. night and mentioned 1 cor 13. If we don't love others, we're just a clanging cymbal. We can do amazing things that may be impressive to man, but without love, it's nothing, just a waste of time. Sometimes, we get nervous about the future and what's going to happen (at church, school, work, relationships, etc.) We need to love those that God puts into our path. (Christian or not, same likes or different tastes). When God brings someone across your path, we need to love them period, no if's ands or buts. It may seem stern, but God said to love them. Mark 12:28-31 tells us that the 2 most important commandments are to love God and to love your neighbor as yourself. Sometimes it can be difficult to love some people, but it wasn't a suggestion from God, but a commandment and he will help you love those neighbors or people that get on your nerves. Well, this post took a different direction than I was planning, but maybe this will help someone with your situation right now. I pray that it will help. May the Lord bless you all.
Love in Christ
