Joys
The most obvious --> more daylight, which for me means more motivation to stay at work later. Doesn't sound like much of a joy? Well, for me it is. You see, I should be working hard, but usually I'm not. My best hours are near the end of the day. When it starts getting dark I feel the urge to go home. But now, since it's light out until like 7:30-8pm, I don't mind sticking around to get some stuff done. Besides, what is at home anyway? Nada.
Woes
It's pretty hard getting up in the mornings now. Usually I'll set my alarm for 6:30am, snooze for 15-20 mins, then start getting ready so that I'm out the door by 7:40 and catching my bus by 8am. However, the time change means it is still dark out at 6:30, so my whole circadium rhythm is thrown off. I can barely get out of bed by 7:30am, nevertheless 6:30am, which means I'm coming into work an hour later than usual.
So I guess it's a trade-off: I wake up later, but I stay at work later. I can't really complain.
