So my classmates and I are starting to get together every week at various bars in the area to partake in trivia night. I pretty much suck at trivia, but it's still fun to go to even though I rarely get to contribute.
Last night I suggested answers for 3 questions that my team decided to veto that turned out to be RIGHT!
First was, what is Sesquipedalophobia = I remembered getting one of those factoid-email forwards that said it was ironic that a fear of long words WAS a long word! So I told them this was such, and they denied me. Yep, guess who was RIGHT.
Second was during music trivia and they played a showtune and we had to guess the musical. I made a wild guess for Producers (because the song had to do with putting on a show), which I've never seen before, that turned out to be right, but we didn't write that one down either...
Third! The best! The question was HP: Half-Blood Prince broke the release record for what book before it? They insisted on putting down The Da Vinci Code... I was like "dude, I really think it was HP 5 -- Order of the Phoenix! It's a trick question." Of course none of them are as die-hard of a fan as me and know what Potter-mania is like, so once again we shrugged off my answer. Guess who is a genius after all? jk. Dork, maybe.
I'm not bitter. Actually, I'm quite amused :)
