I'm tired of these dance offs
Well, i'm going to try not to rant too much.
Today I officially found out that instead of receiving co-editors of the newspaper, Forrest got Editor-in-chief and i'm his assistant.
Now for my rant...
Don't get me wrong, i love forrest and I know he's going to be awesome, but that's why we applied together. All year long I have been doing the grunt work and i'm given the shaft. So now, next year, I get to be the one to teach forrest how to do things like convert the pages and load them onto a zip disc, among other things. For the past two weeks I have been calling Hamilton, Kalispell and other places to try to find us a full size tab, off-set paper, 17-18 issues, compatible with adobe indesign instead of quark, full color on front, back and double....and instead of being moved up a position...i'm moved sideways!!!! I was the one who spent my own money and attended journalism conferences, I'm the one who has been cleaning out cabinets, Im the one who was going to spend hours setting up the files for the new computers and spending a day training the new staff.
The reason i was given for not being chosen as editor had something to do with the idea that the seniors have that the staff will like forrest better. Because i'm to critical of people. Well sorry, but I feel like the scapegoat because everytime we needed to talk to someone about their actions, their writing, or whatever else was wrong, I was the one that was asked to do (so i was the one that got people on my bad side). Not only that, it's not like i've got the best time on the staff. Hello being a republican and a Christian at Hellgate, doesn't necessarily win you points. I've constantly been on the defense this year because any story ideas or disagreement on my part is always shut down because "i'm a conservative". Give me a break.
Uhhh...ok. Now that i've gotten that out of my system.... one good thing will happen, Forrest is going to make me his co-editor because he disagrees with the decision as well.
Oh and ABBY...doesn't this remind you of a little thing that happened during speech and debate (i.e. i was screwed over there too)
Grr. That's all i can say...is Grr.
Well it looks like i'm going to school tomorrow and going to do all of the work (if not more) than everyone else...and not get any credit for it. Yippee.
On a lighter note: I painted my bathroom green. And sorry I never write, i'm a loser and i'm busy.
