i got back from DC today. i had so much fun. my granmda and i first arrived in dullus airport in virgina and stayed with my dad's friends who live there. the day after we arrived, all six of us drove to NY. it took 7 hours to get there because of the traffic. we stayed at a hotel across the hutson from NYC. we stayed there for 3 days and then drove back to DC. it only took 3 1/2 hours to drive back to their house.then for the remainder of the trip we stayed at their house and did sight seeing in washington. of course, i took lots of
pictures.
Scott and Tammy's house. it was so pretty.
this is their oldest son, Grant.. we were so bored the whole way there.
i know you can't make it out, but the sign says: Lincon Tunnel New York City. it was the first sign of new york i saw.
this was the view of the city from our hotel room.
thats the empire state building behind me.
we had to ride a ferry to nyc to get there. this is the view from the ferry.
when we got there on the first day, we walked around the city and saw trump tower.

after we did a little walking around, we went to central park.

we walked around times square. it was so neat.
its the trl building. they were doing a taping of the show when we walked by, but i couldn't see who they were interviewing.
got to see the naked cowboy. tammy and i tried to get a picture with him, but he took off before we got the chance.
we got to see phantom of the opera on broadway. it was SO good. i loved it.
the next day we walked by where the twin towers use to be. i don't know if you can tell, but there is a big hole where they use to be in the middle of those buildings. we were planing on going back and taking more pictures, but we didn't have the time.
we took a ferry to the statue of liberty and ellis island. we were looking back at battery park and the city when we left.
lady liberty.

we went on a tour of the statue, and this was the first thing we saw when we walked into the building. it was the original tourch that was on the statue, but i guess they had to replace it.

Grant got picked to help out the tour guide.

it was so hot.
the last day we were there we did some more sight seeing.
we went to st. patrick's cathedral by rockafeller center.
it was massive.
we stopped and rested at a place called bryant park. there were people laying out, TRYING to get a california tan.

on the fourth of july we went to a place in georgetown called freedom park. they have a piece of the berlin wall and one of the gaurd towers.
for the 4th we sat on the lawn in front of the washington monument and watched fireworks.
it was an awesome show. and we couldn't have been at a better place to celebrate what the 4th is all about.
