An Open Letter To Glenn Beck (R-Racist Bobblehead)

Mr. Beck,There are two kinds of Oreo cookies, both are harmful. One clogs your arteries unless your eat them in serious moderation. The other is a racist term for someone who is black on the outside and white on the inside. More harmful that this is racism as a default companion to ignorance, which you flaunted on your show yesterday by using such an epithet in your synopsis of the Duke Lacrosse scandal. Did you learn nothing about exercising tact and the employment of common sense from your horrific blunder with Rep.-elect Keith Ellison?

Let me get right to the point. You, sir, are an ignorant asshole. That you wear your ignorance as a gleaming badge of honor is shameful to anyone that employs base logic, and for the life of me I cannot understand how you can draw the comparison from lynching to the Duke Lacrosse case.

On Martin Luther King day, on the top of it."What happened to the Duke lacrosse team was practically a lynching without the rope. And for the first time in my life, Mr. Oreo Cookie without the chocolate on the outside can understand why people celebrated when O.J. Simpson was acquitted."

[...]

"Here's what I don't know. Will the leaders who rallied the troops against the Duke lacrosse team now take a stand and say lynching is bad, no matter what the color?"

[...]

"You know, I am -- maybe it's just me. I just see this as a lynching. I mean, it really was a lynching without the -- without the rope. How often does that stuff happen?"
Trivializing what really happened during the reign of white Christian terrorism in the South is akin to holocaust denial, you really need to know that. You are entitled to your opinion, however misguided it may be, and I support your right to use your position on television to show all of your viewers what an ignorant fuck you really are - so don't resort to the hat trick of your Republican counterparts who insist that being called out on your bullshit is the same as a suggestion of imposed censorship. You work for CNN, not Fox News.

Yes, three privileged boys were accused of rape by a stripper at a party - and should they truly be innocent, then what has happened to them and their families as a result is awful and deserving of sympathy. Equally awful is any woman crying rape when that is not the case, should this be true. It trivializes and completely negates what happens to victims of rape the world over. The truth about what really happened has been fodder for months now, and there are huge travesties on both sides of the issue. For you to inject your uninformed, appallingly weak-minded stance to this end on this MLK day is nothing short of disgusting. Even the mere suggestion of rape is not an issue of race - lynching most certainly is.

I just thought you needed to know that.

May a homeless black woman with AIDS smack you right in your fucking face with a force so hard that it dislodges some of the stupid.

No love, respect, or patience for you,
