Recapping My Birthday

Dec 15, 2007 17:56

Last night was fantastic. I got to have my birthday dinner with my best friends and family, which was barbecue with all the trimmings. Just before dinner was served, D gave me a beautiful present and asked me to unwrap it before we had the table full of plates and dishes. I opened it up, and lo and behold - he'd found me a copy of the Sigur Rós Heima DVD that I've been wanting so desperately and unable to procure, and he found it yesterday afternoon at our local fye store, of all places. Not ONLY did he find it, he found the special deluxe limited edition version, the one I had abandoned all hope of finding!!! I have the best boyfriend on the planet, I really do.

After dinner we went to see Sugarland at the civic center. There were two openers, Jake Owen and Little Big Town. Jake Owen was not bad, but LBT sucks balls - extra vinegary ones. One of the most boring shows ever. Sugarland absolutely delivered, and the show was really amazing - not just sonically, but the stage show and multimedia presentation was pretty stellar as well. It's their first headlining tour, and they wore it out. They did 4 covers last night, first was their bluegrass version of Beyonce's "Irreplaceable", then they did U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name", The Dream Academy's "Life In A Northern Town", & Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me" - & during the last two they had Jake Owen & LBT come back on stage for a final all-show encore/grand finale.

We got home around 11:30PM and after I got D to bed, I put Heima on and watched it while listening with the surround sound headphones. I cannot even tell you how amazing it is, but expect a post to come soon all about it. Too tired right now - it's been a long day.

Thanks to everyone that wished me a happy birthday, I sincerely appreciate it! IT WAS A GREAT EVENING!!
