13 might be the cutest musical I have ever heard. It's about a bunch of 13 year olds and Jason Robert Brown (and it weirdly sounds a lot like Parade which couldn't be more disimilar in subject matter) wrote it and it is just delicious. It should have been nominated for a Tony. I mean look at these lyrics:
"Hey Kendra. Don't be nervous. We're gonna get some popcorn and some raisinettes. Chocolate Covered."
You just have to listen to it.
I've also been obsessed with the Evil Dead Musical lately. It is just so ridiculous that I just can't stop listening.
Yay musicals.
In other news, Bruno was really weird. It took so long to get funny, but I enjoyed it. It wasn't Borat, but I laughed. I liked HP a lot more. I never really got into to the movies. I just have a better imagination when I read them than what happens on the screen. Plus, the books are so much more fleshed out which makes sense considering the fact that the movies are long as hell and they still skip a bunch. However, I enjoyed this one. Lavender was absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!!!! I just LOVED her. Everytime she came on the screen I laughed. What was with the ending though? It was weird. I didn't understand why they changed it from the book because it wasn't that long. It felt really last minute and tacked on. It never felt as epic as the books ending did. Plus no funeral...wtf is that!?!?!?
I have seen quite a few movies this summer. I think thats as good a sign as any that it's time to go back to Philly. I miss my UArtists. I have missed so much craziness up there this summer. I think this coming school year is going to be crazy.
