So I just read Twilight for the first time.
...which makes it the second book I've read for the year (this year I actually plan on reading 50 books or plays...it's going to happen)
Well...it was odd. Not terrible, but not really my cup of tea. I was so put off by how absolutely obsessed with Edward she became and it made her such a bitch towards her other friends.
Annoying...I also don't like Stephanie Meyer's writing for men. There are some writers out there who are wonderful with characters of the opposite gender...and then there are some like J.K. Rowling (sorry...after that god awful 6th book and Harry's ridiculous character changes...I had to take my shot) It was weird to me that her dad commented on how hot Edwards "dad" was...I'm sorry, but straight guys just don't do that. Anyways...it was an odd duck of a book and I don't exactly see the super appeal, but it might be because it never quite made sense to me why she was so in love with him. I mean it seems so superficial. She like obsesses over his looks and completely ignores the guys in her life that were nice to her and tried their hardest to get her to like them back. I mean sure later she's all like "he's more than his looks(something she only says like once)" but to me she was just into him cause he was hot and he was just into her because of her smell...which by the way...creepy reason to be into someone...but then again I'm not a vampire so I guess I wouldn't know.
...but, I digress...
I also finished Cider House Rules. It is going to be an interesting show.
Well...I think I'm done here for now...later days!
