Stuff wots happnin'

Right, well I just had a mini meeting with Matt and so am a bit clearer on things. So I thought I would write it all down here before I forget stuff, which is likely to happen when I'm so tired.
We're actually not leaving until Sunday now. Matt needs a little more time, which is great cos so do I! And he doesn't have an excavation permit yet. Eek. So apparently I'm needed for the actual excavation, which is cool. He doesn't have very many people who have a clue, so scarily I'll be actual expertise. And then I'll head up, or down, whatever, to Kapenguria where I'll record everything in the museum so we know what needs redoing. And then... we come back around the 21st/22nd, and then he said 24th I should go to Uganda. Which is a Sunday. Which could work. So then, still fairly fluid about dates, but he said coming back around the 10th. Which is a Wednesday. And then spend a couple of weeks getting things for the Kapenguria museum ready, printed, laminated, etc, and then go up at the end of Feb which is when he's thinking of going up briefly anyway, and work out displays and see if it works and if it doesn't then what will, etc etc. We want to redo the displays in the prison cells. They'll need to get hold of the original photos, and new captions need doing and stuff. And then adding some stuff in the Pokot gallery that is more archaeological but doing a seperate board that can be a temporary exhibit if required. So yeah, hopefully that should keep me busy. And then returning home on the 4th March. Well, night flight with BA so I'll arrive on the 5th. I did want to go back earlier, but it will be nice to have a project I can properly sink my teeth into. And great experience, etc.
So, he wants me to write 500 words to wrap up the Samburu thing I've been researching for ages but being easily distracted so not really getting very far. And then I need to do my statement. And I need to write, basically my biography, for Norah who is going to be my other referee instead of Ignacio. All the stuff I did during undergrad, and since, and my CV. WHich is luckily written but I always feel embarrassed having someone I know look at these things. Which is why I was hating having to send my statement to Matt to go over for me, but all the stuff he's suggested is really helpful, and he apologised for going a little overboard but he said that's only because he was interested. WHich makes sense, if something bores you and was really terrible you'd just be like, nah it's fine, whatever, too much to try and make better for it to be worth it, kinda thing. A bit like my relationship. *attempt at laugh* erm. yeh.
