ZK in between ATLA and ALOK

These headcanons seriously bug me.
And oh boy are they dark!
Perhaps too dark.

I need to lurk more into the theme because the void between ATLA!Katara and her washed out ALOK!self is too scary to dwell about.

Like, what was her life in that oh-so-canon relationship with teh Avatar?
How on Earth a Master Waterbender got diminished to a humble, as tumblr folks call her, 'sad babymaker'?
What has happened?

Why was she never to help with the Yakone case?
Did the knowledge of him being a bloodbender unafraid of that ability - did it somehow affect her?

How Aang died?
My headcanon is that Katara accidentally killed him and since then gave an oath to never use WB for anything other than healing, but MAN can you even IMAGINE the SHEER implications?!

How was that accident even possible...
Oh, okay, there's that cute Zaheer guy and his posse who could probably have done a thing or two to bring the Avatar closer to his reincarnation time, but in all honesty...

Now to my favourite unanswered part, that is Zuko, of course.
Did they never EVER met since ATLA and the comics?
Like, seriously?
You be kiddin' me right now.

How was Zuko feeling as a single father?
Did he not ask for Katara's advice?
(Oh yeah, Zuko as a single father is another headcanon alright).
How his daughter (sweet Izumi, what a name with 'z' in it!) felt about... Well, about everything.

The scariest part is the baby-making one, actually.
"HOW COME our son is not an airbender? Give me another, dear wife, I beg you.
How come our daughter is not an airbender either?

[Just imagine the tension!]

* Katara, do you seriously want the air nation extinct?
* Do you realize it's all depending on you now?
* Why are you not giving birth to airbenders?"

* At Bumi's birth, Aang is extatic. ALL of his hopes are bestowed on his firstborn.
But two years pass, and the baby shows no signs of any bending whatsoever.
* Will Aang go into Avatar state to quell his rage?
* Will Katara promise she'll produce an airbender next time?
* Will she solemnly accept her failure as a mother, who couldn't give birth to an airbender?

Will he threaten her with "there will be no next time"?
That he'll find a more successful woman to help restore his nation?
After all, air nomads are virtually free to choose whom to breed with.

! There're no known restrictions concerning family bonds in air culture. Heck, there isn't even a CONCEPT OF A FAMILY in the air culture, according to whichever snippets of canon we got throughout ATLA.

* At Kya's birth, he's less extatic, but still hopeful.
And then the girl turns out to be a waterbender. And it's insulting.
- Are you fuckin' kiddin' me, Katara? Are you doing it on purpose?!

- Why do you torture me like that?
Have I not been tortured enough by the burdens I gotta carry with me?

- Do you have no respect for me?
You, a Master Waterbender, not capable of doing the ONLY thing I ask of you?

*side note: people say SakuSasu is abusive [as in Sakura forcing herself over Sasuke, not in his general succumbing to Curse of Hatred] - not that it isn't, but regard this one closely and place your bets.

Now that is something that positively needs investigation.
My, the headcanons.
I'm in fact a bit afraid of them because the sheer level of hidden violence underneath is something tremendous and disgusting.
