So, I haven't gotten it all down yet. I'm not the greatest writer in the world. I've certainly made many a mistake. But maybe there should be some sort of standard for writing that we all have to pass. Probably not, but just listen to this semi-bitter fanfiction writing rant.

Now, the nickname thing. Again, I have to agree with you on Chlo-Lo. They are the only ones who address each other that way and it isn't every time they speak to one another or about one another. But Clark never calls Lois "Lo" and Ollie certainly never refers to Chloe as "Chlo." For that matter, Clark has never once addressed Ollie as "Ollie" so that bugs me when I see people do that in stories. Chloe calls him Ollie/Oliver interchangeably and Lois almost always calls him "Ollie" but she does call him "Oliver" as well. The JL members always called him "Ollie."
As for the Sidekick thing, I like it and that's why I use it all the time. The first time he called her that on the show in Justice, it was sarcastic and the second time he referenced her as "spunky sidekick" it was more of an endearment. But Oliver rarely addresses anyone by their actual name, Chloe being the exception. He called Tess "Mercy" for a long time, he used to call Lois "Legs" and he had a variety of names for Carter, Victor, AC, etc. It's part of his sarcastic personality.

I'm glad to hear such an esteemed SV/Chlollie writer agrees with me because it does drive me crazy.
And it's fine to want to use that as a nickname, I love nicknames, I just want them to fit and have a history and reason behind them.
Ollie is such a namer, isn't he? I love that about him. :)
