Games and stuff

So, I found out the other day that City of Heroes has a free option, so given that I've got nothing else to take up my time (yeah, right), I figured I'd give it a try.
It feels a bit more grindy than Guild Wars, but I think I'm starting to get into the plot a bit (playing a villain, because, well, it makes a bit of a change).
I'm slowly getting used to the controls, but I'm still having a few problems getting the view pointing where I want all the time.
Only up to level 8 so far, so there's quite a way to go (or should be) before I get into serious stuff, and at some point I guess I'll have to use the other character slot (free version only gets 2) to play the other side.

Forza 4 is still fun, though I'm coming to the conclusion I'm still a bit too binary on the controls for the S and R class cars, and most of the A class. I might have to spend a bit of time practicing and tuning a couple of cars as I think I'm getting to the point where the quick stuff is where I'll be doing most of the racing. The F and E class races are getting too easy with the current difficulty level, but I've got a feeling that shifting to no stability control and simulation steering might be a bit much given the steering wheel I've got doesn't seem to have a neutral position. D class is almost a guaranteed win as well, and there seems to be a shortage of C and B class races in the World Tour mode.
Actually, that's one of the things I wish they'd change - at any race event there are a number of actual races to choose from, but you only get shown 3 at a time, and these change depending on which car you've got selected. I've had events where I've been in an F class car and one of the options has been a B class race, but when I've changed to a B class car that option hasn't shown up - which is annoying, but there are ways round it. It would be better if they just showed you all the options, I think.
I suspect the setup of steering wheel etc isn't great for my back either, which cuts down the amount of time I can spend playing this one; this isn't necessarily a bad thing :-)

And it being November, I need to make sure I've got tech, costume and everything sorted for Consequences. How did I ever manage to fit all of this in, with NaNoWriMo and a job?

Speaking of jobs, I've still got recruiters phoning me, telling me they think I'm perfect for a vacancy, which always turns out to be one I've already been put in for, and heard nothing back about. Even trying to chase up with the recruiters who have submitted my CV tends to get a wall of silence; if I was paranoid I'd wonder who I've upset.
