DCI!
Wow!!!
Okay! So DCI was amazing!
My mom and I got to Kzoo about....3ish
we checked into our hotel
unpacked
changed our clothes
then went and got some dinner
then went to Waldo Stadium *Western's Stadium*
picked up our tickets from Will Call
went looking around at Spirit of JSU for the DVD's that Mr. C wanted...
sadly they didnt have em
so we went and found our seats
luckily we had ponchos
cuz umbrellas wernt allowed...and it was drizzlin
but that didnt stop the corps
our seats were perfect..we were right on the 50yrd line and 25th row up
my fave corp Fri. NIght was the Blue Devils...duh! =)
they got first...of course! With a score of like 86 sumtin
then after that we went back to our hotels
changed outta our wet clothes
put our bathing suits on
then went swimming
it was fun, my mom and I were racing each other with different strokes
then we got out, got dressed
went to the Restaurant and got a "snack"
lmfao "South of the Border Nachos" they were HUGE
and we were half way done...and the waitress comes over and was like "would you like a box for that!?" we're like "uh...no thanks..we're not finished"
we ate the whole plate! haha the lady must of thought we were heffers...even tho my mom and I both are pretty skinny. I mean if we were fat and eatin all that....then yeah...but..we're not!! =)
then we ordered "mile high cheese cake" to take back to our room
lol
my mom and I split that...but couldnt finish it
and went to sleep
mom woke me up this mornin
I took a shower
then we went and got breakfast
then came back to the room...I packed up all our stuff
striaghtened my hair a lil bit
then went back to sleep
then my daddy called me to see what was up
so I talked to him for awhile
then went back to sleep
then mom woke me up and we loaded all our stuff into the truck
we got a later check out time...cuz we're apart of the "Holiday-Inn Super Club" or sumtin like that...I dunno but we're special
lmfao
so then mom and I went for a drive
we went to Down town Kalamazoo
and went to the Kalamazoo Mall
it was so cool, seeing all the art shops and stuff
and walking in out
I got this lil "J" charm for my phone
and mom and I both got cappucinos
and then I took some picks of the murals I saw
and a cow! lol
then we got back in the car
I took some random pictures
then made mom stop so I could go buy a Jones
lol Jones was my main drink for the weekend =)
then we just drove ALL OVER! We saw the Cavies practicing and warming up
and then saw the Colts
I was gonna have mom stop so we could watch...cuz there were other ppl out their watching...
but instead we went and parked
and we're all set to go shopping at the DCI booths and stuff
when mom realized that I had accidently locked her keys in the car
damn
lol so we had to call the police...they couldnt do anything
so we called locks smiths and stuff
then we called this Tow Truck...they came out and opened the door for us
for $51...good thing mom had the money! =)
we got our rosebowl seat cushions...ponchos..and our tickets! haha
we went and got me a hoody at the Cavie booth =)
its a blue zip up hoodie...and its really comfy! $45
we looked for the cadets...cuz Mr. Cramer wanted a dvd from there
but...they wernt even there
we decided to go find our seats
again...right on the 50 yrd line..cuz my mom is friggin sweet and bought tickets for the good seats!
It rained for like the first 2 corps
and the one corp... I felt so bad for them...the judges made them cut off in the middle of their show...and they had to get off the field...cuz there was lightening
then they let them go back on the field
and restarted their show
and then slightly after them it stopped raining
and we enjoyed the show!
it was amazing!
there was a senior corp there called "Chops Inc" they were so good! their drum major had a loud mouth! haha
Cavies were last...I saw Kyle and Chris! =)
and Richard Saucedo was down there too
then for awards...the cavie's drumline played to the drum majors marching in
it was cool all 3 cavie drum majors put their capes on! it was sweet
Glassmen got 3rd
Madison Scouts got 2nd
The Cavaliers got 1st =) OF COURSE!
then after that...the Cavies and Scout's brass played America The Beautiful
and the Scout's Drum Major conducted
and guess where he stood to conduct it....guess!
RIGHT NEXT TO ME!!! haha
he came up into the crowd and there was an open spot next to me
he stood there and conducted
and he handed his hat to this lil boy and put his medal on this lil girl
then as he finished
he took his hat
and then the lil girl was liek "WAIT! ur medal!!"
and he was like "no...just keep it!"
HAHA lucky lil girl!!
I wish I was 10 yrs younger! I woulda prolly had his medal! lmfao wow definitley lucky girl!
then the Cavies did an encore performance cuz they're freakin amazing like that
then mom and I left after that and headed home!
My mom is so great!! =)
I stayed awake the whole way home and we talked about lil things and stuff
I gotta start takin lessons for baritone
cuz mom said I can march corp next summer if I make it into one...well for sure I will! It'll prolly be some shitty corp...but at least Ill get to travel all over the states and stuff and be able to say that Ive marched corp.
But it shouldnt be too hard to learn...considering I already know how to read music and bass clef...so..yeah...and Ill have a private teacher
so it will be good
I think I mite try out for Glassmen, Capital Regiment, or Phantom Regiment...
then eventually I wil try out for the Blue Devils!!
it will be sweet!
