Ready to Move On

Ok, so I have spent the last month and a half here at home, bored out of my mind for most of the time. Don't get me wrong, I love getting to hang out by the pool, play with my pets I just feel like I need to be out on my own. I'm 22, I just graduated college, and here I am back at home, broke, and still having my parents check on me everyday like I'm a child. I can't live like this anymore.

I applied for the CCM intern position this week, so hopefully I will find something out about that soon. That seems like my one ticket out of here at the moment. If that doesn't happen, which is what all of my dreams have been about for the past month, then I am coming up with an alternate plan. So for those of you that might care, or just for me to have it in writing, these are my two possible plans as of now (yes, I know, neither of these will probably work out how I have planned it, but God will make it work better I am sure).

Plan 1: If I get the internship in the CCM, I will get an apartment up in Maryville (woohoo!). I will save my money each month, enough to pay for 3 years of graduate school for pediatric physical therapy. I will also take the GRE and apply to graduate schools during my internship.

Plan 2: If I do not get the internship (fingers crossed), I will find a job around here for a bit and take the PRAXIS. In Alabama, since the need for secondary teachers is so bad (especially for science and math), I can take the PRAXIS, and if I pass it I can be a teacher even though I did not graduate from an education program. I could do this for a year or so, save up some money, and then go to graduate school.

These are all just guesses at what I will do, but I needed to have a plan written out.

Besides being at home, being broke, and stressing about this internship, I have had some fun too. I got to go to the CMA Music Festival in Nashville with my friends Anne Diener from college and Ashley Russell from high school. We saw tons of country music stars, and had a blast staying at my grandparents' house and eating biscuits and chocolate gravy every morning. I also got to visit Buddy up in Maryville a few times with plenty of episodes of the West Wing, some camping with my family, and watching Studio 60. It's been an interesting summer so far, I just hope it starts to pick up a little.
