camera whores & "mr. kurtz" syndrome.
uh oh..hey guys, look at my senior picture [august 2003]. i know i look completely different, & that does not make me a poser now; before, i guess i was just not ready to look different? anyway, here:
check the stereotypical asian classy ho bopper look, the ravishing mane, & the highlights.
yep. that was only 7 months ago.
& here is a trip to that famed coldstone that will VERY SOON (hopefully) give me a job.

compare the two pictures & i look like two different people. weird, huh?

so, what is mr. kurtz syndrome? mr. kurtz is a character from heart of darkness. the main protagonist, marlow, hears all these things about this guy named kurtz. because of this, the character of kurtz piques marlow's interest. the anticipation to meet him increases with each moment, until he finally meets the famed kurtz--only to be disappointed & disillusioned.
my situation is not QUITE the same, but still.
remember the entry about the guy i heard that likes me? well, i met him today. he's quite.............ehh. CREEPY. asked me out not more than 30 minutes after first meeting me, made me give him a hug, etc. seems nice; i conversed with him cuz I'M nice (contrary to what most people think), but i really did not feel anything towards him. anyway.
went to hibar with irene, aimal, aisling, josh, & jon goodwin. "compliment" session. hibar food is NASTY, contrary to what aimal (whom i usually regard with having GOOD taste in music/restaurants/movies/shows--there's your compliment, man.) & josh say. so blah blah blah.
went to volunteer at planned parenthood, where my coworkers proceeded to let me know of a guy that stopped by looking for me. long story short, it was him. he looked for me right after school. noemi & hillary (coworkers) said he was tall & jittery. we made fun of creepy guys afterward.
while at work, i got a phone call from a number ALMOST EXACTLY the same as mine. yes, it could be coincidence. however, my thinking is that he changed his outgoing number so that it showed up on my cell's caller id resembling mine, for what reason i don't know. either he was trying to be funny or he thought i would like it. whatever. YUCK!
HOW CREEPY IS THAT. plus, while still at school, he asked if i wanted to hang out with him & then go to the park by walmart. wonder what he expected to happen there.
later that night, i got a phone call from PRIVATE NUMBER. guess he's catching on to the don't-answer technique i'm using to drive him away. or maybe not. creepy guys tend to be persistent guys.
i'm counting on my guy buddies to be my bodyguards, or alibis. if not, i can always move to the philippines or something.
