Grandma's Heart Surgery

Oct 16, 2007 16:00

Mom and Dad got the hospital with Grandma and Papa at 5:00 in the morning for a hour of prep work. The pre-surgery started at 8:00. The main procedure lasted from 9:00 am. until about 10:00 pm.

Grandma's heart surgery went very well. The doctor said she didn't come up against anything unexpected. Grandma now has one new Mitral valve and a repaired Tricuspid valve. The doctor also removed some scar tissue on the heart caused by her previous heart surgery 19 years ago.

I am so happy what everything went well!

I am  a Quarter Horse Association and am part of a Riding Program. You log your hours of riding and send them in. When you reach a certain amount of hours then you get an award. I started in 2006 and have logged just over 300 hours riding my QH Rio. When I reached the 250 hr. goal I got a $50 gift certificate award for Drysdales western wear catalog. I finally got to ordering some stuff out of it last week and just today it came in the mail :D Four huge matching mugs, a picture frame, and a T-Shirt that says "When I Count My Blessings, I Count My Horse Twice".

Now I have to get a good picture of Rio and me to put in the frame :) It's been a pretty exciting day for me!

Tonight is the Photo Club meeting. I entered some pictures in a contest connected with the Photo Club so we'll see if I get the pictures back this meeting.
