It been an interesting month. I got to travel to Australia and then new Zealand, all with work. New Zealand is looking for experienced workers in many sectors, and it was really cool to see all the different venues. I made some really strong contacts and have forwarded their names on to people who are looking to better their lives/skills. One has already gotten back to me and landed a job, and the company is paying for his move there. It's nice to see people making a name for themselves through hard work and determination.
However, that being said, I've also had others give me the other end of the sword. The 'no matter what I do, nobody will hire me' or the 'I've given up because all the good jobs are taken up by the minorities.' I mean, really. All I can say to that is that these people are the masters of their own disaster. If you constantly use these excuses you are, sadly (and that's what they are, excuses) sealing your own fate to eternally being nothing but a bloodsucker of society.
One such person I never had the experience of knowing when he was actually like that. This guy finally had enough of living off of the taxpayer, being on welfare, and bit the bullet. He packed up everything he had, moved to where he wanted to try to get a job, and kept at it until he got it. this meant living out of a tent for 4 months, and going way out of his comfort zone. This guy landed a job where he was trained on the job, and now he's landed another better paying job overseas. From where I just was. He told me the same sad sob story others have given me over the past while. The big difference is, this guy made a huge leap of chance and got somewhere. He made the effort, he busted his ass and came out on top.
So to those who insist on living under the very flawed and unethical excuse of I can't do it, nobody wants me, I might as well give up...yeah you might as well give up with that lowball attitude and keep making the rest of us pay for your sad misfortune of not wanting to actually break a sweat and change things. I have no sympathy for individuals like this. I'd have more luck with a blind deaf puppy to train, really. And please don't give me the I don't want to hear it because it just hurts me BAWWWW trip. You want change, then fucking change and quit making up every excuse in the book to NOT do it. All you're doing is taking up space and wasting everyone else's time and air.
