Work update

Feb 26, 2007 12:10

So, since we're short a few hundred bucks each month without me working, and because I do go a little crazy without a little mental stimulation and adult conversation, I am going back to work in a couple weeks. And what did I get a M.S. for and a fairly well-payed, interesting career for if I'm not going to use it??? The AWESOME news: They readily accepted my proposal of working hourly, a couple afternoons a week, from the PORT ORCHARD office. WHOOOT! 20-30 minute commute highly preferable to 2+ hours. Seems also there's a new long-term transmission line project coming up where not only would I be doing my usual environmental site assessments, but I'd be cross-trained on wetlands and endangered species stuff, too, with the possibility of managing the whole thing.
The trickiest thing is that the Port Orchard office has historically been only biologists, so the company will be trying me out there with the hope that the various offices will get more multidisciplinary, which would only be good. Hopefully.

And, I'll be starting the week of Mar 18. Lena will be exactly 6 mos old. If that isn't a nice round number to start the bottle, I don't know what is...

Vacation this weekend. Double WHOOT!
