So I did end up going to that party with the homegirl Michelle on Saturday. I felt so old. They were all high school aged (for the most part). As we were walking in the venue, some dude started to holla and I told him I had a boyfriend. He said (in the most KUN-TREE Chicago voice) "Well why you here den?...If I was yo man there is no way you'd be at this pahday (party)." Mmkay. (C was watching that [damn] basketball game. He's been watching all of them and when it comes to him and television--but especially sports--I'd sometimes prefer to be MIA, forreal.)
We got inside and saw all the youngins literally f*ckin with their clothes on. I felt mad old and it tripped me out. Michelle and I just sat there watching and commenting on folks. Dude ended up comin back over to where we were, and brought a friend for Michelle. Booooo. *Fast Forward*
The bass was wangin' so bad the speaker ended up blowin' out (stupid DJ...why didn't he know the levels to work with?). That did NOT stop those kids. They were still gyrating and grinding on chairs, on the floor, on each other...comedy? The DJ brought in replacement speakers and we left and went to EL RANCHITO which was not up to par that night.
ay gurl ay gurl,
