Umm...
This break has been very free of WORK. That could be a good or bad thing. I'll worry about that when the situations arise. I've relaxed, so I'm satisfied. I spent today in Long Island at Diena's. I had a very nice time. I'd go into details (everyone has grown SO much!!) but at this hour I'm type lazy...See, I was planning on coming in from L.I. and just chillin'--actually getting to sleep early for a change, but OF COURSE that's not what happened. As usual, I got caught up on the phone with my boo-boo, and I actually just got off about 10 minutes ago. Normally, I'd go to sleep, but I LOVE Captain Planet and since it comes on at 5:30, I might as well stay up a little longer to catch it, since I'm up anyway, right? Right. I'm just worn out from all the work this school gives...we need to be able to live to dammit. I've clarified my own break though. I'm going home (Chi) next Wednesday, and my baby is gonna come through for that weekend. I'm so excited about that...mainly for the simple fact that we can both just chill without really having to strain over schoolwork and such.
Anyway, Saturday night, Jas and I went to Applebee's (RANDOMLY). We were trying to be on some splurging-isht and took a cab, plus had bills equating to $20+ EACH by the end of the night (due to dinner and drinks). We, absolutely had to take a cab back, too. Gotta be consistent, ya know? ANDDD...so this guy in a gray Lincoln asks where we're going, we tell him, assuming he works for a car service. How about we get in and IMMEDIATELY I knew this guy couldn't have been a legitimate driver for a car service(thank God for Common Sense--both of them). There was no ID in his car. No window seperating us (in the back) from him (in the front). No CB Radio...and he was blasting WBLS (which was playing some very old school New Edition. Now I did get this message and all the red flags but for some odd reason I just chose to keep my guard up opposed to asking to be let out. Moreso because I felt like I could have been overreacting or just having an incorrect assumption, because Jas hadn't said anything. On our way to the dorm we all see this drunk chick, and then the guy asks us are we drunk. WTH? We get to our destination and ask how much we owe, he asks how much we usually charge. WTH(x2)? Confirmation was right there. We were riding with a random dude posing as a car service driver. SCARY SHIT. Come to find out, Jas was having the same suspicions and coming to the same conclusions as me. We should have acted on our intuition. NEVER AGAIN.
Today I'm meeting one of my high school teachers (an actual mentor at one point of life) for lunch. This week is full of eating and my stomach is fed up (no pun intended). I'm just tired of eating...on the real...and that is something I'd rarely say. But today will be the last day of this buffet-style eating I've been doing.
Oh yeah, I might be able to stay in BK!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
"Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel like my only friend
Is the city I live in, is beautiful Brooklyn
Long as I live here believe I'm on fire hey
L-Y-N is the place where I stay'>
Brooklyn my habitat, the place where it happen at
Live sway and the sharp balance of the battle axe
Irons is brandished at, thugs draw they hammer back
It's where you find the news tool crew cameras at
It's where my fam is at, summertime jame is at
They play Big and get you open like a sandal back
Hotter than candle wax, hustlin you can't relax
The crack babies tryin to find where they mama's at
It's off the handle black, wit big police scandals that
Turn into actions screenplays sold to Miramax
The type of place where they check your appearance at
And cats who know where all the hot 'lo gear is at
The stompin grounds, where you find a pound, smoke is that
Be blazin charm that have your wave cap floatin back
The doorstep where the disposessed posted at
Dope fiends out at Franklin Ave sellin zovarax
You big ballin better keep your money folded back
Cuz once the young guns notice that it's over, black
Brooklyn keep on takin it, worldwide we known for that
Flossy cats get it snatched like the local tax
The place I sharpen up my baritone vocals at
Where one of the greatest MC's was a local cat"
