Some (smart-alecked humorous) political poems written by two of my classmates...
Ode to Ari Fleischer
Hullo Ari, whatcha doing?
I wonder whom you think you're fooling.
I know some others have said you're gruff.
But I know better, I call your bluff.
Your obtuse, balding head is quite the dandy,
C3PO is your double, but I reckon yours is made of candy.
Dapper are your suits and glasses.
If I shook you head, would it make a kerfuffle?
I do believe beneath that poise
Lies a little garbanzo bean, pining to make noise.
How I'd love to shake your head and yell,
"Baila, baila senor maraca cabeza! Epa!"
(translation: "Dance, dance Mr. Maraca Head! Woo!")
This next one is a limerick...
1.
There once was a monkey named Bush
Who became king when he spoke through his tush
Told "misunderestimated" lies
Fed his daughter freedom fries
And now he's turned the U.N. to mush
2.
There once was a man named Saddam
Who was warned he had to disarm
U.S. called him a pest
To disguise the real quest
To bring oil back to the Texan farm
