Well, I didn't think I was that bad, but I guess I am... *shrugs*
I haven't seen this episode in totality yet, but what I have seen/heard just makes me even more disappointed about this season...
First, I was glad there was actually some Sam/Vala scenes in this one. They've been long overdue and we haven't seen very
much in the way of development between Sam and Vala's friendship. Daniel wasn't in this ep a whole lot, but I was a bit miffed
that all his scenes were with Vala and yet again he had no interaction with Sam or Teal'c. I really try not to get my hopes up in
that regard, but a little part of me still hopes that there will be at least something - something that I can get one or two screen
caps out of , anyway - and then I have a big letdown.
I guess I should watch the show for more than just Sam/Daniel or Sam/Daniel/Teal'c interaction, but it's hard to sometimes.
I mean no offense to Daniel/Vala shippers but it seems that their friendship or whatever is all TPTB care about showing
nowadays. They even went so far as to have Daniel and Vala sit together in the briefing room AND wear the same color
BDU's. Maybe that doesn't mean anything and I'm just paranoid but it's enough to make me wonder if they have assigned
seats and assigned BDU colors, like some military vs. civilian distinction. Or if they're subliminally trying to tell us that these
two just belong together or something. *sigh*
I know I've said this way too many times before but it's really hard for me to believe that Daniel is still friends with Sam and
Teal'c. I need evidence of it, otherwise how can you assume that they are friends? Just because they were friends for so long
doesn't mean that they can remain so. Who's to say that they didn't have some huge fight offscreen? I just haven't seen
anything this season to make me believe that they are still friends. Yeah, there was the scene in Talion where Daniel was
with Teal'c in the infirmary but that was a flash in the pan - and there was the scene in Morpheus between Daniel and Sam,
but that was at the beginning and there hasn't been anything at all since.
I'm sorry I keep harping on this. I know I shouldn't let it bother me so much, but it's getting a bit hard to watch this show
because I feel they're trying to force Daniel/Vala down my throat (again no offense to D/V shippers!) and destroy the old
friendships in the process. SG-1 used to be such a great team and now they're fragmented into Daniel/Vala, Sam/Cam and
Teal'c. It's pretty disheartening to me.
I'm just glad that I'm getting to watch the eps now so I know what to expect and don't have to worry about watching them later
on SciFi. I just really miss the old friendships so much and wish TPTB didn't have to be this stupid to get rid of them. *sigh*
