Chicago.

I've been in Chicago now for three weeks. I only have two more to go and I can't believe how fast time flies.
My job is alright. I like that I'm on the alternative work schedule (I work four extra hours per week to get a full day off every other week). I just feel like no one really thought what I would be doing through. It's heavy on the text. Like I have to sort through hundreds of files, or try and decipher other people's handwriting and do this 8-9 hours per day just isn't working out so well. I did get a little CCTV through the CAP program, but it's not very functional. Since I'm looking at files and it gets stuck on the pages or takes forever to focus. It was hard trying to decide what I wanted over the internet when I had no idea of what my job would entail.
Eyestrain has become my companion. I've told them repeatedly that this set up isn't working for me, and they do listen, but nothing changes. Luckily I just have two weeks left- I think if it were more long term I would be more forceful.

My classes started this past week. I already feel like I'm behind! Tonight and tomorrow I'm going to sit and review the lecture notes and presentations, take notes and try to get organized. A lot of the information is very scientific- right now we are studying the nervous system and parts of the eye. I don't know how I'm going to be able to memorize all of these parts, where they are located and what they do. I've never been much for science, but I think the best way to approach it is to study like a nurse and make flashcards. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

I've gotten out a little bit. Two weekends ago Tracy and I went to the Botanic Gardens and the fireworks at Navy Pier. Both were a lot of fun. I got to indulge my flower touching fetish to my heart's content. I sent Roger a picture.

Last weekend I went to visit Tracy out where she lives. I bought shoes. I had somehow killed my Nine West pumps and needed to replace them. And I bought some boots.

I went to the Art Institute on Thursday and got to enjoy their Audio tour and today Tracy and I are going to the Celtic Festival. There is a men-in-kilts leg contest and we wouldn't miss it for the world.

I hope all of you are doing well--- update your journals so I know you are alive!
