Update: Things are looking up

I am pleased to inform my loyal readers (if any such thing does exist) that I received and 85 on my very first Physics quiz. A quiz, might I add, that I was almost positive I was going to fail. You don't understand the relief that washed over me the instant my wonderful Physics teacher coyly named Bishop told me that I did really well.

I was exuberant, ecstatic, monumentally relieved. I feel a lot more confident about myself and I know now that if I really set my mind to do it I can excel in ANY class - even a science class.

I am also really excited about my Brit Lit class (with the exception of the Angela's Ashes quiz, but that's only 5% of my grade, so whatever). My teacher is awesome and totally unconventional. Mr. Perdum's room is set up like a circle and we're a pretty decently sized class so it feels like we're just sitting around and having a conversation. We're currently reading the book 1984 by George Orwell and I absolutely love it. Mr. Perdum said we're going to read it as a love story which I found odd at first but I am totally feeling it now.

He doesn't believe in rubrics - he wants to let us off a leash and let us write whatever we want to. We get to pick our own prompts and we have little to no structure besides a limit of 500 words in our next essay on Angela's Ashes. I'm absolutely thrilled to be able to write without boundaries and set limitations. I feel like I could excel in the honors program for English classes if Mr. Perdum doesn't leave after first semester. I hope, I hope, I hope.

Now, let's just see if I can get my procrastination problem under control...

haha :)
