Annika and I saw an owl last night. We've never actually seen a real live in-the-wild owl... Just captive owls... We were driving away from my parents' house around 10:30 p.m., we came up on an intersection and I saw an animal on the lawn of the house across the street. At first I thought it was a large cat, then I thought it was a raccoon, then it stood up and I realized it was an owl. He had found what was probably a small snake and then he flew up and perched on the street sign. We sat there for about 5 minutes watching him on his perch, we drove across the street to get a close look and he stayed on his perch, watching us. It was very very cool. This city girl is giddy.
