Well, I couldn't take it anymore so Quinn gave me my gifts Thursday night :-) He gave me this awesome book called Living Abroad in Italy and painted me a scene of Venice because he knew I'd be sad since my parents are in Italy. It's so nice to have someone give you a gift that they actually put thought into and knew you would like, instead of giving like a bath and body works gift basket or some generic thing like that. If I could figure out how to get a picture from my phone to my computer (it keeps fucking up) then I would show you the picture I took of it. What a good daughter I am to have let my parents take my digital camera to Italy with them.
Dave Lanza, aka lanzababy, called me at 12:01 to wish me a happy birthday. Very Thoughtful, I miss him and can't wait to see him! August-December is way too long.
The original plan for midnight time didn't come through, and that made me super sad. that's all i have to say about that.
Then Friday morning my parents called me from my aunt's house and everyone sang "Tanti Auguri A Te" which is "Best Wishes to You" sung to the tune of "Happy Birthday". And then my cousin Alessandro who has the same birthday as me text messaged me to say happy birthday :-) So that was nice.
I basically relaxed all day even though I shouldn't have because I have all this work to do, but I figured I deserved it. Evan Grysko decided not to come up I guess, although he never told me that, and I told Dan not to come because I was afraid of being a bad host or a grumpy jerk, but he's such a fucking doll and called Quinn and talked to Evan about coming up to see me with Amy anyway, and just leaving me alone a lot. Which is unbelievably sweet and I really appreciate it, I just have to try real hard not to be a big grumpface. So yay :-) He and Amy will be here later today. I'll prolly go out to dinner with them but I think they're gonna go to a show and I'll prolly stay home and work.
So then last night was my birthday dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston. Quinn, Greg, Cohen, Yoni, his girlfriend Natasha, Igor, Meryl, Alex, and Erica all came. It was super nice :-) Greg got me this super hot scarf, it's like black and cream knit, very warm, and a sweet beaded necklace. yaay! and Alex and Erica gave me super cute cards. So my first drink as a 21 year old was a strawberry daiquiri. The idea was people could buy me whatever drink they wanted and I would drink it. So Quinn did the daiquiri, Greg ordered an earthquake which is like a chocolate-ized pina colada, evan (true to form) ordered me a shot of jaegermeister, and Erica and Meryl got me a Purple Hooter, which tasted like strongly spiked kool-aid and was super yummy. the waiter called me drunkie, and even put it on the receipt.
Then I came home and decided to be lame and go to bed early because of this conspiracy paper, so Quinn and I were half asleep when Alex knocked on my door to tell me i had visitors. I got decent right quick and went out to see Alia and Simone, which was super sweet of them to come say Happy Birthday - Thanks girls! And also thanks to everyone who IMed me to say happy birthday - I <3 you!
And now....Back to the paper.
