Our lives are fractions of a whole

well. This weekend was probably the best that I have had in Kalamazoo this year, maybe tied with Halloween weekend but in any case the best that I have had in quite some time. Meredith came to visit and she, Katie and I definitely spent some quality time together. On Friday the three of us went over to ben jammin's house and he made us dinner- orange-bourbon glazed salmon and grilled vegetables. yeah it was damn amazing that boy can cook. We brought along a five dollar pie from meijer as our contribution to the meal. It was pretty good but we ate it while playing drinking games so I am not really sure that it that good. On Saturday we all got up bright and early (like 10.30) and went out to breakfast. Then ben and I photo safaried our way through downtown kalamazoo. Got a few good pics and it was nice just to stroll around and enjoy the 70 degree weather. We also went garage saleing, drove around in his jeep with the top off and found a lake! I then proceeded to dinner at cosmos with merr and Katie & then to coffee at waterstreet where we went down to newly discovered lake and took a few more pics and goofed around on the playground. After that we went over to moe's and drank and talked. & then at the end of it all we had a slumber party and watched now and then. Sunday was filled with homework, a small round of Frisbee and an actual conversation in Spanish at dinner with my roommate and Jose who just happens to be from Ecuador. Yay! I was actually semi-impressed with my ability to bullshit Spanish. And with the fact that I am going to make an Ecuadorian buddy who can be like 'don't say that, it means that you want to fuck a goat.' Or something... in other news I have been rejected from my most promising internships soooo most likely I will be in traverse city sitting on my butt this summer. I really wish that something would work out for me to get A LITTLE real working experience but I guess it's just not in the cards. Sigh. I am really uneasy about my whole academic pathway at this point. I still don't have concrete ideas about what kind of career I may want to pursue and the whole point of these internships was to gain a small amount of experience in fields of interest so that I could have something to base my decisions on. And now I have to try and find a stupid job in tc that will hire me for two months this summer. Ugh. Fuck the bush. Ok enough ranting, I need to go read cell... a lovely evening to everyone. :)
