If you've never seen the move, Patch Adams, you probably should. I watched it millions of years ago for the first time, and then watched it again recently just for the heck of it. It's inspiring and I think, Patch Adams himself is inspiring. He does a lot of work that borders along the lines of things that I hope to accomplish in the future. He's done a great deal with so little to begin with.

I wrote him a letter a few weeks ago, just to see what would happen. I chose to send a real letter as opposed to e-mail because I feel like technology makes one of the most personal parts of our lives impersonal. I feel like sending a handwritten letter increases the chance that my message will be understood. Real letters make people happy- they're something else to look at besides bills and it means that somebody cares about you. I love mail-
Anyways-

I sent the letter and was rewarded with a few phone calls from Patch Adams himself- offering me spots on volunteer trips to Peru and Guatemala. I was thrilled until I found out that they're bigger than my current budget and that I cant go. I will be sending in an application soon though, to be a weekend volunteer at the campus of his hospital in WV. I have to finish his books though- he's written 2, and they're really great. You should read them, if you're interested let me know :)

That's my story...does anybody want to come to WV with me? :)
