in the wake of it all....
LIFE:
We all fared well with the storm, meaning everyone's alive and such. My house is fine, quite a few shingles missing so my aunt had the insurance come out and they will be replacing the roof. My mom had trees down and the wind ripped the roof up over her bedroom. Her house was on the market so she's hoping to do minimal repairs and then sell it at a reduced price. All in all, ok. So Britt and I have a new roommate for a while, and I haven't lived with my mom in about 5 years so we'll see how it goes. I love her but as we all know, as you get older it's harder to live with parents as you are becoming an adult yourself. Not to mention no more wild parties for a while...not that had them before...lol. My brother and his fiancee are living with her brother in Hammond for a while to get on their feet and hopefully everyone will come out much better in the long run!
Side note: Still no boy prospects.....sigh
WORK:
I had my quarterly evaluation on Friday and it was pretty good. I feel like I'm making progress. My boss seemed pleased so hopefully things will continue to get better. I really do love the company I work for but at some point after I graduate from grad school, there will be no opportunity for me to grow professionally. I know it's 2 years away but I think it's important to keep in mind. I don't want to water down my skills or education just because I like the place and don't want to leave. Oh well, that's tomorrows problem, for now things are moving along smoothly so I can't complain.
Overall things are going well and life is sailing along, I love school so far and I feel many of the things I'm learning I can use in my career, which is nice.
