Politics. Yes. That.

So I have become a pretty avid follower of the self proclaimed socialist/pinky/hippee/leebral Rachel Maddow since the BP crisis started. And tonight's show brought forth all sorts of anger and tears from me, not JUST because of the frustrating political plays that are happening in BPs favor, but also the political plays that are hurting our nation in just about every concievable way. For example:

Unemployed people during the worst recession since the Great Depression will now be

">lack of consideration in regards to the improvement of rehab facilities that thousands of wounded veterans will be using once they come back from this nine year war. Oh and lets not forget the forever uphill battle of getting folks with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) the mental health professionals and treatments they need. True my opinion and passion has grown to this topic because my Dragon is a medically retired veteran. But only because I have had to watch every single day for over four months how he struggles with extreme injustices. And my god, the PAIN he physically and mentally has to fight because of backward medical practices. No man or woman who chooses to protect this country should ever, EVER be left like this. Yet we are letting it happen.

And don't even get me STARTED about the foot dragging on Gay Rights. Or the destruction of positive health care reform in this country. Sweet Angels Above!

Folks, our country is FALLING APART. In part because yes, those whom we have elected to govern and stand up for us are turning away from the cries of the people and watching their stock portfolios instead. They are not excused and should be held accountable. But who will HOLD them accountable? We still have so many who are staying quiet, only shaking their heads and going "well gee, glad it's not me" or laughably "hope that doesn't happen to me"!

I am broke. A little mentally, pretty physically, and plenty financially. I haven't had a job since November 2009. But I know I want to do my part by either volunteering my time while I am unemployed, or what spending money I do receive to grassroots organizations that are making a difference. That is my pledge to myself,  to the atrocities I see unfolding in our nation.

And finally, of course, harassing you and anyone who will stop to listen with my ragey posts and continual links of videos on my Facebook. =D

So my question is: what the heck are you doing?
