The two girls maintained their position for nearly a minute. Sooyeon moved away after finally realizing how awkward it was.
“Sorry” she stood up immediately and started organizing the scattered documents, trying to hide her embarrassment.
I.. what was I doing……? What’s happening to me?
Miyoung blushed and stood up too. After seeing Sooyeon at such proximity, Miyoung confirmed that she was enchanted by her.
Both of them did not say anything after what happened and the office fell into a silence once again. The only sound came from the scribbling of the pen as Sooyeon continued to work on the papers.
Miyoung sat quietly on her pink couch as she watched the blonde.
“Boss, you’re not going back?” Sooyeon broke the silence.
“I’m… accompanying you.” Miyoung said, sounding like it was natural for her to do so.
Sooyeon did not reply but continued to do her work. She had to admit that the presence of Miyoung reassured her. At least she don’t have to be alone now, or she would be so worried about what might be lurking around in her dark office that she would not be able to complete her work.
“Jessi, you’re still working part time?” Miyoung asked curiously.
Sooyeon paused, “Yeah”
“Why? Are you short of money?”
Sooyeon kept quiet and bit her lips as she tightened her gripped on the pen she was holding.
Miyoung felt Sooyeon’s uneasiness. The blonde seemed to be deliberately avoiding questions which were too personal.
“You’re… close with Taeyeon?” Miyoung tried to change the topic.
“Not bad.”
Not bad? You’re obviously very close with her!
“Oh, she looked capable” Miyoung said crossly
“Yeah, she’s really great” Sooyeon’s face soften when Taeyeon’s name was mentioned.
Miyoung glanced at the blonde for a second, then took her hand and dragged her out of the office.
“What are you doing Boss?” Sooyeon was surprised by her boss’s sudden act.
“We’re going to the night market.”
“But I have not completed the work you assigned” Sooyeon said.
“Don’t do it anymore. I don’t need them tomorrow anyway. Accompany me to the night market now!”
Sooyeon did not refuse as she knew her argument would be invalid anyway. Since the boss said she doesn’t have to do it now, she won’t.
“Wow. This place is bustling! I’ve never been to a night market before!” Miyoung shouted excitedly as she saw the crowd of people ahead.
Sooyeon remained expressionless as she stared at the crowd. She really hated crowded places.
“Ohoh! What is that?!” Miyoung rushed into the crowd happily.
Sooyeon grabbed onto her hand immediately. “You’ll get lost if you run around like that”
“Eh? I thought we have cell phones?” Miyoung looked at her in puzzlement.
Sooyeon frowned and let go of her hand. “Fine. Go shop on your own then, I’ll wait for you outside.”
Although Miyoung wasn’t sure of what Sooyeon was thinking, she wouldn’t let her off that easily.
“No way, you’re coming with me” She showed her beautiful eye smile as she held onto Sooyeon’s cold hands.
Miyoung’s charming eye smile attracted attention from the crowd and many people started to turn and look at her. Seeing this, Sooyeon felt unhappy for some reason and began dragging her boss towards the night market.
As they walked along the street, Sooyeon remained silent while Miyoung squealed and jumped around excitedly. Even though there was a great contrast in their personality, somehow, some kind of invisible harmony exists between them.
“Hey, what’s that?” Miyoung pointed towards a booth.
It was a popular game in the night market known as hoopla. The objective of the game was to throw the set hoops you were given. If you manage to make the hoops land on the spike for the prize, you can bring it home.
Sooyeon briefly explained the rules of the game which aroused the interest of Miyoung.
“Sir, give me two sets please”
After receiving the hoops, Miyoung began to throw them randomly.
Sooyeon couldn’t help but smile as she saw the focused look on Miyoung. The girl looked kind of silly like that, but it was cute to her.
After missing five times, Sooyeon couldn’t stand to watch any longer. She moved forward and held Miyoung’s hand, trying to guide her on how to throw the hoops correctly.
Miyoung felt her whole body heating up when Sooyeon held her hand. The blonde’s perfume filled her nostrils as she leaned closer towards Miyoung.
Under Sooyeon’s guidance, Miyoung was finally able to throw the hoops accurately.
“Jessi, let’s have a competition” Miyoung smiled as she handed Sooyeon a set of hoops.
“Don’t think I’ll let you win because you’re my boss” Sooyeon laughed slightly.
“Yah, so arrogant? I won’t lose to you!”
The two of them started throwing the hoops crazily. Although it was just a simple game, both of them enjoyed it a lot.
Sooyeon have not felt so happy for a while. This was a pleasure she felt sincerely from her heart.
Even after ten rounds, there still wasn’t a winner. They ended the game as a tie.
“Yah! Jessi, look at this UFO catcher! These are so cute!”
“Wow, this grilled squid is so yummy!”
“Arghhh, this stupid fishing net. Why did it have to break all the time?
Miyoung acted like a kid throughout the night. However, it was also because of it that Sooyeon was able to finally relax after three years. It was so long that she had almost forgotten how it feels like to be happy.
“Jessi, look! Candy floss! Its candy floss!” Miyoung grinned as she held up a huge cotton candy.
“It’s just a cotton candy…” Sooyeon looked at Miyoung wearily. She had clearly not expected her boss to have such a childish personality.
“Wow, it’s really sweet and delicious!”
Sooyeon felt her heart race as she stared at her cute boss who was ate the cotton candy recklessly.
“Boss,” Sooyeon called out to her all of a sudden.
“Hmm?”
Sooyeon reached out her hand and using her slender fingers, she gently wiped away the tiny bit of cotton candy that was stuck on Miyoung’s face.
With a sweet angelic smile, she said “You got cotton candy on your face”
Miyoung couldn’t help but stared at Sooyeon. The smile had caused her heart to skip a few beats. That was the most beautiful smile she ever saw.
Sooyeon smile lasted for about five seconds before changing back to her usual cold expression.
“Boss, it’s getting late. You should go back.” Sooyeon said seriously.
“No, I want to play for a while longerrrrr” Miyoung whined.
Although Sooyeon looked calm on the surface, she was actually screaming inside. A whiney Miyoung was too cute for her.
“We can always come back some other day.”
“……. Okay then” Miyoung nodded her head.
“Good bye” Sooyeon bid her farewell and turned to leave.
That night, Miyoung couldn’t sleep as she kept thinking about Sooyeon’s smile.
Ever since that night, there were a few minor changes to their behavior towards each other.
Sooyeon started talking more and less coldly while Miyoung would wear a huge smile every day. She was glad that she had taken over the company after all.
“Hi Sooyeon, Miss Hwang.” Taeyeon greeted. She brought three people along to Hwang’s Enterprise today.
Apart from Hyoyeon whom they have already met, there were also two good looking guys.
“Taengoo” Sooyeon smiled as she greeted back, causing a slight jealousy from Miyoung.
“I want you to meet these guys. They are my cousins as well as my assistants.” Taeyeon said.
“Hello, I’m Kim Jonghyun. Please to meet you” a handsome guy who had brown hair with blonde tips.
“Hi, my name is Kim Kibum. You can call me Key” An attractive and gentle looking guy said.
“I’m the boss of Hwang’s Enterprise, Hwang Miyoung, Tiffany. Let’s be friends, you can just call me Tiffany. Taeyeon, you can call me Tiffany too.” Miyoung smiled as she told them.
Taeyeon nodded and smiled.
“Jung Sooyeon, Jessica.” Sooyeon briefly introduced herself while keeping her expression cold.
“Sooyeon, they are our juniors actually, they really admired you.” Taeyeon smiled as she said.
“Oh.” Another brief response.
“I could die happy now that I saw Jessica sunbae…” Jonghyun stared at Sooyeon in admiration while Sooyeon kept a straight face.
“I really like you!” Suddenly, Key took out bunch of flowers from out of nowhere and stared at Sooyeon, with his heart shaped eyes.
Sooyeon stared blankly at the two boys who kept blowing hearts and kisses over while Miyoung could only gape.
What? I have too many rivals….
