All about the scientology craziness

Ok, so, while flipping channels earlier I stumbled upon Access Hollywood doing a report on Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and of course Scientology came up. I didn't really know anything about the supposed "religion" except that celebrities were becoming all about it. I started wondering exactly what the beliefs and practices of it are and so i decided to INVESTIGATE ON THE INTERNET!

The first web-site i found - while informative - was quite amusing, because it seemed like i was reading Yoda describing the Force. Take a look:

I found others that were more informative about how it was started and all...good ole Sci-Fi...and I still dont really understand. It becomes more and more secretive the more a person gets into it, and i wanna know why! Probably because if the world knew then the Scientologists could no longer charge out the ass for "salvation"...

In an interview i read, the "cult or religion" question was brought up. The interviewee insisted it is a religion because it provides a belief system, an understanding of the universe, and a way to better one's self. I don't know if i agree with him. I mean, the incredible secrecy, the money paid to study it...it sounds like a secret club - ahem - cult to me.

In the late 50s/early 60s, The founder of Scientology actually enforced what he called "fair game", meaning that if any one was heard criticizing scientology then the scientologists could do whatever they wanted to discredit said person, or even destroy them.

I dunno, sounds like a cult to me. High-class manson maybe?
