it's official
Marseille was BY FAR my favorite place we visited on our journey to france. Apart from our view of the gorgeous harbor, all the history, and the breathtaking sights, the reason has to be because last night i caught the receptionist at the front desk sitting in the bar drinking and watching porn! He didnt seem at all phased, but i suppose that since porn is in every basic cable package over here, why should he?
it sure as hell weirded me out man. there i was, sitting in a darkened bar having one last cigarette before i went up to bed, and there's this random 30 something man who is watching some hardcore stuff. luckily he had it on mute...
katie told me that it has a reputation for being "seedy", but neither of us really thought it was. i mean, the 2 times we ate at a restaurant, our servers were absoloutely the nicest and most fun we've had yet. we decided that maybe it's the nightlife that gives it that rep, or maybe it's because it seems to be the home of lots of really casual, laid-back folks. i dont know, but good times were had :)
now back in lyon - in the same hotel room we had the first night we were here. how strange! It will be our first and last...aw...
whats sad is that i wont be able to get gabi until tuesday cause my plane lands so darn late tomorrow night. well, 8:40, but i wont be out the airport till like 9:45. no good at all!
