These are my bad haikus:
It's called collision
We bump shoulders all the time
I hate crowded halls
I like haikus but
I wish they could be longer
Or maybe shorter
It's not a poem
It's just a thought of my own
Don't take it wrongly
Don't worry, my love
I don't think I'm a genius
Just like doing it
Lonely yesterday
Made a necklace of crystal
Made a necklace clear
I'm more proud of these:
Places
I paint the treetops with my mind
You hold the lush greens that we find
We leave the jungle, left behind
You paint the small stream with your mind
I hold the pebbles that we find
We leave the country, left behind
Though we paint,
And though we hold,
I found quite late
It's less than bold.
Though they're false,
And though untrue,
When places call
I think of you.
Rhyme Practice (this is a ridiculous poem, but the title explains it)
I do not think in rhymes
My brain's not made of chimes
I counted many times before
But it's sour...just like limes
I used my fingers once
Syllables from a dunce
I can't believe I pulled this off
Give me twelve more months
And now i've reached the end
Open ears did you lend
I'm sorry that it's over now
I hope I did not offend
(Untitled)
Because these locks do not exist
beyond what is my choice
Freedom is what's hard to find
and so is my own voice
Because I cannot seem to find
some strength within these limbs
The world can get so hard to see
Good faces look so dim
But as i turn from side to side
this feeling falls apart
Push and pull my way through doors
I comprehend this chart
So when I get to what's called "end"
I should have felt so proud
I learned so much from life itself
Not from your being around
Take the Time (this was written and finished about thirty seconds ago)
Take the time to listen
Take the time to talk
Take the time to hear me say
"Let's take some time to walk"
Take the time to show up
Take the time to care
Take the time I know you'll take
To go from here to there
Take the time to be home
Take the time to stop
Take the time to think about
the minute hand on the clock
Take the time to make lunch
Take the time to eat
Take the time to read some things
in between your sheets
Take the time to doze off
Take the time to think
Take the time to conciously weigh
the choices you must meet
Take the time to sleep now
Take the time to dream
Take the time to see my face
Through a bright light beam
Take the time to wake up
Take the the time to know
that nothing happened between the time
you travelled to and fro
