Is there anyone out there that even knows this journal exists anymore? *looks off into the vast distance* Didn't think so. Oh, well. For anyone who might wonder by, here are all the vids I've made since my last vid post of Monster. That is a total of... 11 videos.

Downloads of the videos are available upon request. The vids are after the jump, ( Read more... )

Thank you, thank you, thank you! And you are right. Whenever I vid, it is always focused on the essence of the show. Or, at least, for the most part. I don't do much in the way of AUs, but when I do, even then I try to stick to that 'essence of Supernatural'. Like with the vid 'Wait For Me', which is an AU vid of sorts for Dean and Lisa, but then I'm pretty darn positive that Ben IS Dean's kid, so... Yeah. Anyway.

When it comes to my vids, my most recent is usually my favorite, but I have to say from a broad standpoint, 'It's Not Alright' is currently my favorite. I just think it really captures that essence I mentioned above. It is sad, but also very symbolic of the entire show.

And to be honest, because I'm apparently in a talkative mood tonight, I've never really understood the response that my vid 'Permanent' has gotten. I mean, it has everything my other vids essentially have, but there is something more to it that has really grabbed people's attention. I mean, when I made that video it was just obvious to me what scenes were gonna go where and everything. I honestly thought the voice overs were going to be a turn off for a lot of people, yet they weren't.

Maybe it was the scenes I chose, maybe it was the voice overs, maybe it was David Cook's gut-wrenching song, or maybe it was everything together. I don't know, but even as 'It's Not Alright' is my current favorite, 'Permanent' is the one I'm most proud of overall.

Thank you for your wonderful comments!!

Oh - that's another thing. Your song choices. I am such a sucker for angst-ridden songs with meaningful lyrics and I've found so many based on your vids! You and LSketch42 are to blame for over 1/2 of the emo music in my collection.

I would NEVER have looked up David Cook. I actually really despise American Idol or any shows like that, so I totally missed who he was. And then I saw 'Permanent' and the vid was barely finished before I was high-tailing it to iTunes to find the song.

LOL!

Since then, I'll hear songs and think, "OMG, Jess would do such an amazing vid to this," but I never want to bother you, so I just picture it in my head.

Oh -- and I forgot to mention! I love the SNS intros you have to each vid. Makes them so unique! :)

Song choice is HUGE for me. If I don't feel at least 90% of the song suits SN, then I won't do it. I mean, I've always loved music, but I have to tell you that my music library has doubled since finding Supernatural. I've found so many fantastic artists because I run across a song that fits SN, then go and check out the artist's other songs. Not to mention, iTunes' "Just For You", or "Genius" as they now call it, is beyond awesome. A good portion of my library comes from that fantastic application.

If you ever come across a song you think is SN fitting, feel free to let me know about it. I don't really take requests anymore(long story), but I'll take suggestions. :P Chances are I'll have the song on my 'To Vid' list. I actually have playlists on my iTunes labeled Dean, Sam, Dean and Sam, Bobby, Castiel, Promos, and General. I literally have hundreds of songs on my 'To Vid' list, so it is safe to say that I'll be vidding for a LONG time.

And dude, one of the songs I just discovered is on my shortlist for getting it vidded. I'm sure you know Michael Jackson's song 'Will You Be There', right? Well, I heard this other artist cover it and never realized how much it fits SN until then. I think the difference is that the cover is more raw and emotional than MJ's version. Not that MJ's isn't awesome, but this cover better suits SN. I mean, the first two verses is just the singer, no music or anything except piano between the verses. I just love it.

The cover is by Boyce Avenue and I am SO sending it to you, along with another cover Boyce Ave did of Matchbox Twenty's 'How Far We've Come'. That is also on the shortlist for an SN vid, the cover version fitting SN a LOT more than Matchbox Twenty's version.

And it is funny you should mention the SNS intro, as I was just considering today editing it down to just maybe 5 seconds. I was thinking it gets annoying seeing it over and over if you watch one vid after another of mine...
