the past couple days
Its been a good past couple of days... Monday and Tuesday I worked at Tyee out in Bellevue for the band teacher - this is a school I worked at last year too. I really like the kids and the other teachers there are great too. The band teacher, Mark left me some great stuff to work with them on. Old stuff they've been doing but also some new stuff so I got to do some actually teaching, which I thanked him for! It was great to be back in the classroom and actually getting to do stuff with kids. Also since they always ask about me playing clarinet I brought a recording of my recital in and played a little for them to listen to then I demonstrated a couple of tough rhythms with my clarinet, whcih they thought was really cool.
Monday night was our last rehearsal before the dress rehearsal for Cascade. I stayed the whole time and listened to Zart and give her feedback about the two concertos shes doing with us. I also found out the adventures that Jeffrey and Julienne had been through with the car getting towed in New York city.... craziness! They were still able to drop by and see Jason although Luke was already asleep but they got the car back and whatnot - maybe next time they'll fly into the city instead!
Yesterday morning I made the decision to call Eli. Yeah I know, give me a hard time whatever but I did. I left him the message I had been wanting to leave him about the frustration involved in him not calling me back and whatnot. I assumed that he was a jerk and that I would not hear back from him but I did which I appreciated. We chatted a bit last night and he apologized for not ever calling me and wants to have a conversation face to face, he said this is not an over the phone kind of conversation. So he apolgogized which was nice and thanked me for the message that I left him. He said people tend to let things just dissolve but I appreciate that you called me on this. I kind of freaked him out with my cough it was really horrible last night and so once I'm better or after tomorrow when I find out whats wrong we're going to get together and chat which will be good. If nothing else at least I know that my first instinct was right.
Then I just got a voicemail from Ben who I ran into at BN a week or so ago. He wants to get together and play some Klezmer type music - which could be interesting since I know very little about that kind of music! So I'll have to give him a call back.

For now I'm going to enjoy my day off, I may not go to karate tonight since I've been feeling crummy... my stomach hurts from all the coughing! I'm headed off to the library and to run some errands. It'll be good to get out of the house
