So much has happened in the past month and a half that it has seemed like a whirlwind of activity.
-I played for a clarinet student in a concerto competition; she won. (played for her on her convo too, and she advanced to the all-star convo.)
-I went to see a friend in a show here in Louisville; I may never get to see her again off stage. ;) (seriously, we need to get together.)
-Peter Pan - 8 shows, 4 dress rehearsals, 5 additional orchestra rehearsals, $350. Not cool.
-new James Bond movie - good.
-Fall Recitals at the Academy - mixed feelings
-busiest Thanksgiving vacation ever: drove down on Tuesday, went music shopping and hung out with old friends on Wednesday, everyone over on Thursday, not very productive shopping on Friday, left on Saturday for MS
-celebrated our 1st anniversary in MS - fun, but we didn't stay long enough; lesson learned for next trip
-double trumpet recital & a horn recital in one weekend
-10 out of 13 juries down, 3 to go
We have the Holiday Spectacular Concerts at IUS this weekend; one on Saturday, and one on Sunday.
Next week is pretty light; I have the remaining 3 juries and all my teaching, but since there are only 3 juries left, I don't have to do that much practicing/rehearsing in the mornings, so I can actually finish up my Christmas shopping (which is pretty close to done), and actually wrap presents, since I haven't wrapped a single one yet.
We also plan to finally close out one of Colin's bank accounts and move it to my bank. We are S-L-O-W-L-Y but surely working on getting our ducks in a row so that we can start saving up to buy a house of our own. Don't get too excited about that though, because I must emphasize the slow part.
Well, I guess I should actually go get ready for this concert. If you have wondered whether I had fallen off of the face of the earth, now you know that I have just been incredibly busy. But what else is new?
