Re-arranging

We brought 2 new-to-us desks up from AL from Colin's Mom. We put all the pieces in the back room Mon. morning, and I spent the rest of the day (until I had to go work) cleaning off the furniture that the desks were to replace. Unfortunately b/c our house is so small, there weren't a lot of options for where to put this stuff, so our hallway was lined and our couches were piled with books and papers and CD's and boxes and all kinds of things. We had to move my old computer desk onto the front porch, my old desk into the living room, two bookcases are in the kitchen. Our house is pretty much a disaster area right now. Slowly but surely things are being put back in the computer room, but not everything will be able to come back in; the old desk is going to be stored at a friend's house, the old computer desk will be given away - but that was expected b/c the new desks were their replacements. However, there is a lot more moving around to be done. Colin's computer desk has to be shifted over so that we can both sit in the room at our computers. We have to clean off the dresser in the back room so that we can stack the bookcases on top of it.

The hardest thing for me is dealing with all the paper. I just have no desire to go through it all, hence my writing a LiveJournal post about it instead of doing it. I am not even sure how long this will all take. I know the old desk will not be picked up until tomorrow, making this at least a 3 day long project.

Also, unfortunately, we had to leave a set of drawers behind b/c they didn't come apart, so I'm thinking we won't get those until mid-November at the earliest, Thanksgiving at the latest. For now, I am making do with some of the shelves being pretty close together, and using them as pigeonholes.

At any rate, I know I will like the new desks, and the new setups, I just wish we had a little more room to maneuver. And that the pile of paper I have to go through would disappear.
