It's so strange to be busy in the summer...

Into the Woods has had its opening weekend, and it is going very well! I got a promotion and a raise (they billed me as AMD in the program, and paid me $200 more than we had agreed); I even got a couple of job offers out of it, and a funny story.

The funny story: A friend of mine who is now a sophomore at IUS, but who I met by working with him while he was still in high school at a local school in Indiana, came with his family. Apparently, his grandmother told him that he needed to marry me. After the show, he came over to tell me this b/c he thought it was funny, since he knew, but his grandmother did not, (1) that we already knew each other and (2) that I am already married. It was funny enough to hear the story from him, but it was even funnier b/c Colin was right there as Brad was telling me about it. Then it got even funnier, b/c as we were on our way out, his grandmother came up to me and told me again!

At any rate, people seem to really appreciate what I am doing with the score, since I am the pit. All by myself. On a keyboard.

My parents came up this weekend to get Lauren, too, and they really enjoyed the show, too. :) We had a lot of fun while they were up here; we tried to play tennis, but only lasted a little more than an hour b/c it was so hot. We ended up looking at a lot of pictures from Europe trips - pictures from the Girl Scout trip I so faithfully chronicled, and pictures from my parents trip a week or so ago to Wimbledon and Rome. We didn't quite make it through all of them, but we got a good start. It was nice to spend some time with them since I hadn't seen them since the Europe trip. (Dad picked us up at the airport, but I guess, I really hadn't spent time with him since right before we left for the Europe trip.)

The week before they came up was pretty much spent (when I wasn't teaching or rehearsing) editing Wimbledon from the quarter-finals on so that Mom could see what they missed while they were in Rome. I also finally managed to transfer our honeymoon pictures to CD so I can print them out and fill the album I have specifically for honeymoon pictures. :) And now that we have all of our Europe photos (or at least our favorites) up on Facebook, I am planning to work on compiling them onto a CD/DVD so that we can put on a slideshow for our friends and family.

I also need to take my car to get an oil change, but for right now, I am just enjoying my day off. :)
