Living on TULSA Time!
Whoops I forgot to update my journal in the past 2 months! Sorry!
I am really just going to update so I can write about Tulsa and remember it always since it was like the best time in my life.
On Wednesday I had to work all day until 5, so I worked but my mind was like "AHH ASH AND KIM ARE COMING!" So I came home and Jess came over....we waited for Kim and Ashley! We watched some tv like the season finale of Gilmore Girls! So finally at like 10 Kim and Ashley arrived, after getting lost a little!!
Probably when they got here was such a happy moment! I loved seeing them come out of the car and hugging them both! Love those girls! So they came in and looked around, I gave them a tour of my house! Then we decided to do a little late night shopping at Meijers for our trip! Loved it! We didnt really have much to buy! We just bought some gushers, a huge box of goldfish, nerd ropes and other candy! Stuff like that! We took a picture with a picture of the pope too!
We came home and Kim wanted us to watch the Story of the Year DVD, so we did, until like 1:30 am! We were really tired! So we went to bed and woke up at like 3:30! YES 2 hours of sleep! Then we got all of our stuff ready and headed to TULSA!!!
I started out driving first! Yikes! I hate driving but I had to suck it up for our 14 hour drive which ended up being more like 15 and a half! It wasnt too bad though! Illinios was really boring because its all just feilds! But Missouri was kind of cool! There was mountains and dead armidillos on the side of the road!
We were trying to hurry to our hotel so we could watch the OC! We got there in time but when we got into the hotel there was a huge formal party going on and everyone was dressed up, and we had to walk through them in our gross clothes and none of us had showered! It was actually really funny! We looked so out of place!
We watched the OC and everyone but me showered! Im gross! The OC was really intense though! Im glad we got to watch the season finale together! We went to be at like 11:30 becuase we all had only slept like 2 hours! Sam's plane was delayed and ended up getting there at like 12:30! She had to call and wake us up, so we let her in and all fell asleep right away!
Friday. Friday was beyond amazing. I can't even believe Friday happened but I wish it could all happen again. We woke up and got ready and headed for the MOE house. Kind of crazy, but every Hanson fan can't visit Tulsa without a visit to the MOE house. We got a little lost and drove a little the wrong way towards a bus on a one way street! But we made it there and took some pictures of the house, and us in front of it.....we didnt even touch the lawn....and so many people go in their yard and look in the windows and stuff. So i thought we were VERY respectful.....butttttt as we were driving away we saw a security van driving down towards the house with the lights flashing! WHOOPS! I dont know who called security on us! It was a little crazy but kind of funny!
So after that we got directions to IHOP and ate there! My first time ever! It was cute! We blasted MMMBOP driving through Tulsa. It was so fun. Then we went back to the hotel to hang out a bit but Amber called Ashley and told her Hanson did their souncheck, but we all decided to go down there anywya and check out the area!
So when we got down there we found out Hanson hadn't done their soundcheck! So we got to watch their soundcheck for like 2hours! It was like 95 degrees out and we were all sweating so much but it was so cool to see their souncheck and to see them discuss their music and figure out songs and stuff! We also met a lot of hanson.net kids! Kind of cute!
After that we went to wait and see if they came over to sign and stuff, but they didnt. Ashley, Jess and I went back to the hotel while Kim and Sam waited outside. Ash Jess and I looked at our pictures for like an hour while we cooled off, and Kim and Sam didnt get to meet Taylor but he did come out for a few minutes!
So we sat around until like 6:30 and we went down to the stage area and got in a HUGE line to get our wristbands. There were about 900 Hanson.net members there. THat's incredible to me. So many people traveled for this show. We got our wristbands and all bought Hanson anniversary shirts! Love them! It was so cute. I just loved everything about it!
Then we went and bought some fair food because we hadn't eaten! We got FRIED PICKLES! Yes! They were really good, actually! Loved them! Then after that we got a good spot for the Hanson show!
The show was AMAZING. There were 12,000 people there, roughly. That's like more people than I've ever been around in my life. And considering how many people that is, we had really good spots! We were like 30 feet from the stage or something! Aside from a little chair throwing, the crowd was really good. I just love Hanson concerts. And there's nothing like seeing your favorite band with your favorite people in the world.
My favorite song from the concert was Crazy Beautiful. They changed it up and we got to snap and clap along with the songs. It was just so much fun. I wish I could do it every day of my life.
For the encore of the show, hanson came out with Leon Russel, and to be honest, I had no idea who that was! But I guess he's like a legendary music guy! So that's really exciting! Steve Ripley from the Tractors came out too! They played Livin On Tulsa Time! It was really really fun! Taylor looked so happy to have Leon there, he was like glowing with happiness. I love him. He loves his music so much.They all do.
After the concert was over, we call hopped in the car and headed to GUTS! We got kind of far back in line, but we cut in line with Ashley miller and megz and amber and some other people! It was really happy! We got let in and the doc finally started at like 12:30!
The doc, Im not going to write about it, but it really really made me love Hanson's music so much more. They are so dedicated and passionate about their music and I just love them so much. I hope a lot of people get to see it and see what Hanson has gone through and how much their music means! I wish everyone in the world would see it! SO SEE IT WHEN IT COMES OUT!
After the doc, we all drove back to the hotel and went to bed! It was like 3 AM!
Saturday we woke up at like 6:30 because Sam had to go to the airport! We took a really hot pic of us just waking up! Then Sam left and we all got ready to go home! We left at like 8 AM Tulsa time, 9 am our time.
We stopped at the WORLDS LARGEST MCDONALDS! Talk about exciting! We stopped like 25 times on the way home, I swear! It was a long drive and I was really happy to get home at like 12:30! We were so exhausted!
So Jess went home and Ashley and Kim stayed at my house! Sunday and Monday we didnt really do much! We just went and ate and saw movies pretty much! But I loved every second of it! I wish they just lived here in my house! I wouldn't mind being paralyzed with them and just sitting in one spot all day, I think I would have fun! I was really really REALLY sad to see them go!
But even though it was sad, I get to see them again in like 13 days! NEW JERSEY HANSON SHOW! Im so happy I have more hanson and ashley and Kim to look forward to! My 3 favorite things! I can't even wait!
So that's like the most shortened version of the most amazing weekend of my life! I hope I never forget it and I'm so happy, it was so worth the 30 hours of driving and all the money spent! I would do it again in a second!
I really really miss it now. I hope we can have tons more good memories in New Jersey and even after that!
