hugging the blade, counting the years
so do you know what's annoying? my cat, cammie, is sitting right next to me on the couch just now. that's not the annoying part. she's actually sitting right ON my left forearm, making it difficult to type or, well, do much of anything, really. oh well. at least i'm right-handed.
so i'm probably not gonna make it with nano. so much other stuff has happened this month (and i'm pretty incredibly lazy, really) and i have about 9k words so far when i should have, oh, 28k. wow. that's pretty bad. i still want to finish writing that story, though. it wants to be written. the bad thing is that i've also been neglecting my other works of fiction as well, you know, the ones people ACTUALLY READ. :D
there are four written-but-unposted chapters of the change of heart sequel on my old computer, but it's ANCIENT and there's no way to get them off there and into eloise (my laptop). i mean, i could put them on a floppy disk (i told you it was ancient) and then find another computer with a disk drive AND a usb port (actually a rather daunting task...i haven't found one yet) and then transfer the files from the disk to the usb thingy, then into eloise. the old computer won't connect to the internet b/c i have satellite internet now and it doesn't have a hookup for it.
i suppose i COULD sit in front of the old comp with eloise and just transcribe it all by hand, but that would take FOREVER. i really don't want to have to do that. so for now i'm just being extremely neglectful with it.
on a lighter note that DOESN'T make me feel guilty, twilight is friday! yay! and my gold contacts will be here wednesday, which is the coolest thing i can think of. i made an alice cullen necklace, which actually looks pretty cool even though it's homemade. the only thing that sucks is that my hair is a BIT too long to be alice...but i'll figure something out. and i'm still trying to figure out a good outfit to wear that SCREAMS alice cullen. i'm working on it, though. can't wait! i'll probably embarrass the crap out of my husband. so that'll be fun.
oh, and bonus points to anyone who can tell me where the extremely random title of this entry comes from! i'll give you a piece of cyber birthday cake!
