*muffled scream*

okay. i completely sympathize with akashathekitty right now. a couple of weeks ago (or maybe it was a month ago) i remember her writing a blog about people getting all angry and upset when hermione did anything the least bit rude or thoughtless or just even the slightest bit not nice to draco. and i got it then. but i get it even more now. MUCH more. ugh.

so in my latest chapter of heart's demise, hermione breaks up with draco after several things happen. in that story, in case you didnt' know, draco and hermione are engaged, draco's got cold feet, draco's grandmother and sundry other minor characters are plotting to break them up, etc., etc.

a couple of chapters ago, they had a pretty big fight (for lack of a better word) b/c draco "forgot" they were supposed to go meet hermione's parents, when in reality someone had slipped him a forgetfulness potion so his forgetting would start problems between draco and hermione. so there's that, too.

not to mention that she feels uncomfortable with the fact that he's pretty wealthy and she's never had that...also that his father still doesn't like her and his grandmother basically told her to her face that she wasn't good enough for her grandson.

and then there are the greengrass sisters (i know, i hated to use them when they're used so much already, but i needed a villan and i crafted daphne into the health-is-fading, evil mastermind and astoria into her vapid, all-too-eager pawn). they've been causing mischief behind the scenes for a while.

so then there's a big scene where hermione walks in where she shouldn't have and draco is (innocently) talking w/ daphne...it was basically a set-up and i can't explain properly in one paragraph but she ends up breaking up with draco. she knew it was a set-up but she used it as her excuse to get it over with, basically.

whew. that was a mouthful.

anyway, the point is that i've had reviews bashing hermione and i don't like it. she had very good reasons to break it off with draco. she was already feeling insecure and overwhelmed by the whole situation and she decided to give them an out before things got more complicated.

i mean, really. if you were in a relationship with a guy and everyone seemed to be out to get you and everything seemed to go wrong at every other turn - and you also happened to be an extremely logical person who put way too much thought into everything - what would you do? personally, if i had been hermione, i think i would have done the same thing. at some point, you just get tired of fighting. and she reached her breaking point.

and i know everyone is just upset because "zomg drakie-kins is soooo fizzzzziiiine and i can't believe that b*tch for bweaking his wittle hawrt how DARE you!!!111!!!!11" but i mean REALLY.

with a title like that, it's not going to be a fluff-and-rainbows story. and besides, those really aren't my style. ;)

and i think people forget too often that draco and hermione were ENEMIES for half of their lives. on opposite sides of a WAR, even. when you read so many stories in this genre, though, you tend to forget those things.

argh. so i'm pretty much done here. :D i just needed to get all of that out. i just wish that people would comment on OTHER things about the chapter...maybe that it was well written? believable? "i liked such-and-such line, it made me laugh"? XD

sorry bout that. that is all.

writing, rant
