Day 13 - A Song That is a Guilty Pleasure
Yesterday I promised a better song today. I was out to dinner yesterday and heard a particular song that would fully fit into this category, but for most of you who actually read my blog, it wouldn't qualify as better. I'll give you a link to it anyway: Your Man by Josh Turner.
Now, to be absolutely honest, it is a fundamental problem in American culture that makes these songs 'guilty' pleasures. There should be zero guilt attached. Unfortunately, 'round these parts, sex is bad (dirty, naughty, take your pick). Hogwash, I say! I am a married woman, and therefore, to do without sex is naughty. To vilify that beautiful aspect of marriage is dirty. I say it, but somewhere within me, so many years of "sex is bad, mkay?" prevents me from properly enjoying these sexy songs about committed relationships. It's also highly unfortunate that songs like these are relatively difficult to find.
