Remember way back in the day, around the beginning of summer, I said one of the bazillion things I needed to do was work on a research paper? Yeah. Randomly, while telling a friend who is now in a different Latin class than I about the research papers we're writing in my Latin class, he says to me, "Do you think you could have an abstract of that written by September 18th?" Apparently, the paper I was expecting to submit an abstract for around January ... that deadline is a lot sooner than I thought.
Of course, I had a hell of a summer. Almost nothing got done on the paper I was planning to write. So, now I'm thinking seriously that I maybe ought to try switching to use the paper I'm writing for Latin to submit to the conference. I'll have to check with Dr. Research Advisor tomorrow. I'm excited that there's a possibility that I'd have a classmate at this conference as well as Dr. Research Advisor (who's a fabulous guy and all, but a professor).
The moral of this story: when in doubt, look it up yourself. Early.
I've also managed to loose one of my syllabi. Before I sat down on day three of classes to enter all the important dates into my planner. Sadness. It's a good thing that I'm fairly sure the only thing due tomorrow was the handout. I hope.
