I'm Officially ...

... going to be a Latin and English teacher in the fall!!! I got the call a few minutes ago and I actually have to call my new boss back. I'm still working the DSS job over the summer and since we're in the thick of finals (busiest time of year for my direct supervisor here) I'm going to wait until next week to tell her that I'm not likely to have any/many hours available to work in the fall. Also next week (when I'm done with my own final exams and being Desireé's maid of honor) I'll start curriculum planning in earnest (although I'd already written a placement exam for my high school Latin students to figure out if anyone will get to start reading Caesar's Gallic War with me instead of trudging through Wheelock's).

In other news I think my mythology final went well yesterday. Today I'm working all day (on a break from delivering exams at the moment). I've gotten all my flashcards made for Virgil, and located one of three passages on my Petronius take-home exam in my notes. I'm 80% done with translation notes on the Odyssey but still have only a sixteenth of the vocab cards done for old Homer ... which I should get back to about now.

Sorry I've been neither posting nor reading lately. I promise I'll get back to that around Tuesday next.
