I kind of have this like/dislike relationship with R&G Are Dead. On the one hand, I think it has one of the most fantastic openings to any movie. It's really brilliant stuff. It also has some incredibly good actors doing some very fun bits, and I'd love to see a full-blown production of Hamlet with all the players.
On the other hand, sometimes a script relies wayyy too heavily on method acting, and this movie screams "method acting" in all the bits between Shakespeare's dialogue. I know I'm heavily biased in that regard since I was Shakespearean-trained first and method second, but I hate when I can detect the method rhythms within the movie.
Oh, but I wish I could see those two do a live play, regardless of what they were doing.
