Is amazing! Of course, I like scrabble to begin with. And, apparently, our Classics Club adviser isn't particularly a scrabble fan. Which means that despite his 20+ years of Latin (compared to my two-ish), he still didn't soundly beat any of us before he left. Maybe it's cheap, but I'll take my confidence boosts where I can get them. The most difficult part of the evening was not even having two different partners with 1+ semester and no Latin, but that our Quaestor (aka treasurer, aka
jedicaesar ) insisted on keeping score in Roman numerals. WAY harder to add series of Roman numerals than to explain why the dictionary says "caro, -ere: to card" and we can put "caras" on the board to someone who knows nothing about Latin. Conveniently enough, however, Quaestor's team, Team Prometheus, won. My team, Team Diana, came in second with Team Minerva coming in last, even with their last minute attempts at chicanery.
