4th Photo Meme
1.Go to the 4th folder in your computer where you store your pictures.
2.Pick the 4th picture in that folder.
3.Explain the picture.
4.Tag 4 people to do the same.
So, the computer I'm posting from is my sister's (mine is allergic to the internet) and she doesn't believe in folders for much of anything. Hence, this is the fourth picture from the 2nd folder (because that was as high as the numbers went).
In September, one of my favorite Latin instructors (really, I don't have any grievances with the Latin ones) who is also a very good friend had a birthday. I didn't actually have any classes from her at the time, but I knew that her 101 Latin class met at 8 in the morning. First class of the day. In the room where said class met more than half of the rest of the day's classes were from my same section, Classics, except for Italian ... and one or two others I suppose, were scheduled to meet.
The brilliance of my scheme was this: Let's get to school at the crack of dawn, decorate the whole classroom obnoxiously as possible (this doesn't capture all of it, there were streamers and more balloons than show in this frame), hang a several foot home-made banner that says "Salve Magistra!" (Hello Teacher!) on the wall, and then make everyone else who has class in that room for that day suffer through the vivid colors all day.
Several of her 101 students were very obliging about helping me hang all the decorations, and another went to her office to keep her gone from the room as long as possible. She was horrified originally, and ran from the camera when I went to take pictures (the fifth photo in the folder has a blur of her escaping). But, being quite a bit more devious than I am, she thoroughly enjoyed the idea of inflicting balloons on everyone else for the rest of the day.
I did have class in the same room later that day. I took pictures of all the classics instructors amid the festivities. It took me three days (during my Latin 211 class) to quietly take it all down.
